US manufacturer Oshkosh has registered $8.28bn in net sales for fiscal year 2022, compared with net sales of $7.95bn in the year prior.
Net income for the full year was $173.9m, or $2.63 per diluted share, compared with $461.1m, or $6.68 per diluted share, in the previous year.
The decrease in net income has been attributed to higher material and logistics costs, manufacturing costs, new product development spending, and other factors.

For the 12 months that ended on 31 December 2022, adjusted net income was $228.7m, or $3.46 per diluted share, compared with $378.2m, or $5.

With the introduction of the ‘Made in India’ aircraft carrier- Vikrant, India is hoping to update its naval fighter fleet. Boeing’s F/A-18 Super Hornet Block III and Dassault Aviation’s Rafale M are in the running to supply the Indian Navy (IN) with cutting-edge naval aircraft. In 2017, the Indian Navy put out a request for bids for 57 fighter planes.
It was estimated that the tender was valued at $6.6 million at the time. The initial purchase for the Navy will include 18 single-seat and 8 twin-seat jets. Both the INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya will be equipped with these planes.

When defending any position, the second-to-last thing a military unit wants to know is that they’re outnumbered. The very last thing the defenders want to know is that they’re massively outnumbered. Being outnumbered leads to a losing mindset, which can be a real morale killer, which further affects a unit’s ability to fight effectively. Being so outnumbered that defeat seems certain can be a self-fulfilling prophecy – but it doesn’t have to be. There are many examples in history of units winning against the odds.

Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Donald Davis has served in the military for 26 years, but he has never seen an aircraft quite like the KC-10 Extender, a refueling tanker that can also double as a troop or cargo transport.

Exercise Trishakri Prahar was a combined training exercise between the Indian Armed Forces and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) that took place in North Bengal between January 21 and 31, 2023, with the goal of practicing integrated battle coordination.
The purpose of the exercise, which comprised the whole Army, the Indian Air Force, and the CAPFs, was to put the Security Forces’ capacity to use cutting-edge technology in the battle to the test.
The entire region of North Bengal was used as a training ground for rapid mobilisation and deployment drills.

The German Army has procured two prototype Ziesel light unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) for testing and evaluation, Janes has learnt.
The German Army received the two systems in December 2022, and will conduct the testing for an undetermined period, according to spokespeople for the German Army and the system’s manufacturer, Diehl Defence GmbH.
The Ziesel is a tracked UGV designed for close infantry support in roles including logistics and casualty evacuation (casevac).

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has procured a second-hand Norwegian commercial offshore support vessel (OSV) that will be converted into a mother ship to host offboard autonomous minehunting systems.

Elbit Systems’ Hermes 900 Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UASs, now known as ADS 15 in Swiss service, have been officially delivered to the Swiss Air Force.
After initially arriving in Switzerland in April of last year for in-country flight tests, the reconnaissance equipment has been handed over to the Air Force.
With this official delivery, the air force can build operational capabilities on the system before the remaining four drones are delivered in late 2023.

Yesterday, the Washington Post reported that the US military was about to secure access to more military bases in the Philippines at a time when relations have been heating up rapidly since the election of Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
According to the WaPo report, which relies on US and Philippine government sources, the expansion implies US access to an unknown number of Philippine military installations, “probably including two on the northern island of Luzon.

Images of what appear to be the reasonably undamaged remnants of a downed Russian Kh-101 air-launched cruise missile have surfaced on the internet, providing a startlingly clear look at some of its features.
The Kh-101 in question was reportedly shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces in the Vinnytsia region in the center of the country on January 26, according to the Ukrainian Air Force’s Facebook post.
