There is bloody fighting going on as Russia has unleashed its offensive in the Donbas, but little has changed across the battlefield, Army Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Tuesday.
“This offensive you see going on right now [is] generally in the Bakhmut area,” Milley told reporters during a press conference after the ninth Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting wrapped up in Brussels, Belgium. “From Kharkiv all the way down to Kherson, the front line is quite stable, even though very violent.

The aerospace and defence industry continues to be a hotbed of innovation, with activity driven by the uptake of advanced technology, and growing importance of technologies such as hypersonics and advanced materials. In the last three years alone, there have been over 174,000 patents filed and granted in the aerospace and defence industry, according to GlobalData’s report on Innovation in Aerospace, Defence & Security: Lidar scanning systems.
However, not all innovations are equal and nor do they follow a constant upward trend.

Moldova briefly closed down its airspace earlier today, following reports of what was described as a balloon-like object over the country, close to the border with Ukraine. After nearly one year of brutal conflict, Russia has failed to subjugate Ukraine or shatter the NATO alliance, Army Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on Tuesday.
“In short: Russia has lost,” Milley said during a news conference in Brussels. “They’ve lost strategically, operationally, tactically, and they are paying an enormous price on the battlefield.

New images have emerged of a U.S. Army M1 Abrams tank sporting an experimental artificial intelligence (AI)-driven target recognition system designed to speed up how fast threats can be spotted and engaged.
The images were released on the U.S. military’s Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS) website on February 13, 2023. However, they were in fact taken on November 5, 2022, as part of the five-week Project Convergence 2022 event, or PC22, which took place in California.

The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency is making progress in pinpointing big data analytics tools to apply to internal and publicly available sources in support of its critical spy-thwarting and personnel security missions.
But according to DCSA Director Bill Lietzau, most of this work is currently in pilot and experimentation phases — and the analytics capabilities the agency aims to invest in long term have largely not yet been solidified.

Artificial intelligence agents have demonstrated their ability to control a modified F-16 fighter jet during an initial round of test flights in California as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency moves forward with its Air Combat Evolution program, according to DARPA.
The ACE project aims to advance the Pentagon’s autonomous systems capabilities as the U.S. military pursues robotic wingmen and other drones.

Ukraine hopes to receive this type of combat aircraft, which can turn the war around. How do they work, why are they so important, and what is it like to pilot them?
When turning, the pressure of the body against the seat is gigantic. Only people in the best physical shape can withstand the effort.
In addition, you must wear special pants that allow circulation in the legs and prevent the pilot from losing consciousness. The speed is rarely less than 900 kilometers per hour.
