Chinese state media has for the first time released footage showing the long range surface-to-air missile capabilities of Type 055 class destroyers, with the first warship of the class, the Nanchang, shown firingHHQ-9 surface-to-air missiles. The footage was taken during the ship’s first air defence and anti-missile mission in March 2021, shortly after the vessel’s service entry in January 2020. Five missiles were launched against test targets, and reportedly demonstrated high levels of accuracy.

Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana is where most of the remaining B-52H Bombers reside when they are not forward deployed to Anderson AFB in Guam, Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean or at Minot AFB, North Dakota.
There are roughly 70 B-52H Bombers still in combat coded status out of the 102 built.

The U.S. military is working to increase its presence on Greenland, including adding special operations forces and potentially operating in three new areas on the island, the head of U.S. Northern Command said this week.

The U.S. military is surging more ground, air and sea forces to the Middle East including nearly 5,000 Marines as the war with Iran approaches its fourth week. 
This week the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group left port in San Diego on Wednesday, ahead of schedule. The ready group includes the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship the USS Boxer as well as the dock landing ship the USS Comstock and amphibious transport dock ship the USS Portland; the latter two left port on Thursday. The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group is carrying the roughly 2,500 Marines of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
