The Australian rocket company Black Sky Aerospace (BSA) has successfully launched a prototype of a long-range missile known as TM229 Cyclone, the company announced at IDEX 2023, being held in Abu Dhabi from 20 to 24 February.
According to BSA, the Cyclone has a length of 3.7 m and a diameter of 0.229 m.
Global software company Systematic has signed a long-term framework agreement with the Danish Ministry of Defense’s procurement arm Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO).
The 20-year agreement will require Systematic to provide its SitaWare Suite command, control, communications, computers (C4) intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) technology for use across the Danish Armed Forces.
Systematic will also provide associated consulting services for the C4ISR suite.

Australia has announced a programme to upgrade the capabilities of its Boeing EA-18G Growler fleet.
The Australian Department of Defence (DoD) had not responded to a request for comment about the programme at the time of publication.

A series of large contracts for weapons made by the Emirati defence company Edge worth AED9.27 billion (USD2.5 billion) were announced on the first two days of the IDEX 2023, being held in Abu Dhabi from 20 to 24 February.
Tawazun Council, which manages procurement for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces, said it had awarded Edge’s Halcon weapons subsidiary with a AED4.7 billion contract for Desert Sting 25 lightweight guided bombs, a AED2.

Embraer and Lockheed Martin have expressed interest in participating in the Indian Air Force’s (IAF’s) new Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) acquisition programme.
The IAF is seeking an option of acquiring a batch of 40, 60, or 80 transport aircraft. In its request for information (RFI) released on 3 February, the IAF said that the aircraft are required to have a cargo-carrying capacity of between 18 and 30 tons.

Edge Group’s entity HALCON has been awarded multiple contracts to deliver different precision-guided munitions (PGMs) for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces.
One of the contracts, worth $582.5m (AED2.14bn), will require HALCON to provide Thunder P3 light PGMs, designed specifically for the MK series of general-purpose aerial munitions.
The company will equip Thunder with a semi-active laser (SAL) seeker, which will provide the forces with enhanced accuracy and range against various threats.
