The US Air Force (USAF) will likely end its efforts to operationalise the Lockheed Martin AGM-183A Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) following a 13 March test failure. Although the test failure marks the first of the all-up round, three component flight test failures in 2021 led to speculation about the programme’s future.
The USAF said on 24 March that the test launch “met several objectives,” but provided no further information.

In 2019, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) recommended that the US Department of Defense (DoD) conduct a comprehensive assessment of the effect of their contract financing and profit policies on the defence industry.
Accordingly, the DoD launched a comprehensive Defense Contract Finance Study (DCFS) at the end of 2019 to assess defence industry financial performance over a twenty-year timeframe. The DoD has now released their DCFS findings on 10 April 2023.

According to a top general in the U.S. Space Force, Russia has taken to using space weapons in its war against Ukraine. Russian forces have been jamming GPS signals from American satellites that are used by Ukrainian troops.
Despite jamming signals from the satellites, Moscow has not yet attempted to destroy any of them, and one expert believes it’s because Russia’s space capabilities are not yet completely developed and would not survive a conflict with a major world power.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, member nations of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization have greatly increased defense spending and joint training operations. To that end, Air Defender 2023 is slated to be the largest air exercise in the alliance’s history. Hosted by Germany, the event will involve 23 other nations, 220 aircraft and 10,000 service members.

Scheduled for June 12-23, Air Defender 2023 will be held primarily in Germany.
With the benefit of hindsight, it’s easy to see how early life shaped an individual’s world to come. In the years leading up to World War I that was certainly true for an eccentric-but-brilliant character named Orde Charles Wingate. One particular aspect of his boyhood routine no doubt led directly to his future role in the establishment of modern Israel and its vaunted Israel Defense Forces.
Born in India in the classic period of Great Britain’s global dominance, it seemed the sun would never set on Wingate.
Robert Patrick Bleier didn’t remain Robert Patrick for long. As a little tyke, his proud father bragged about his first-born’s muscles and nicknamed him “Rock.” The nickname stuck and today, Pittsburgh Steelers’ fans know nothing of this Robert Patrick fellow. They do know Rocky Bleier.
Born and raised in the bucolic setting of Appleton, Wisconsin, Bleier was a multi-sport star.
For anyone who thinks China’s biggest threat to Americans’ personal information is TikTok, just because it’s owned by Chinese firm ByteDance, remember: It can always get worse. China has actually ramped up its intelligence operations inside the United States for decades, since at least 2005, according to the China experts at Foreign Policy.
In their words, the Chinese government has been waging a clandestine war against the United States ever since, and the U.S. hardly noticed. We were too busy ramping up our own war, the Global War on Terror.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America was frozen in Arctic ice during WWII before being recovered and thawed out in the 21st century. Cap’s story is remarkably similar to that of a P-38F Lightning fighter plane appropriately named Glacier Girl. The plane was even restored to flying condition after its recovery.

During WWII, planes had to make a series of hops across the Atlantic from Maine to Scotland before entering the war in Europe.
Announced for the first time on 6 April, Finland is expected to buy the David’s Sling weapon system from Israel, marking the first time the long-range air defence system has been sold to an outside government.
Following a rigorous selection process across several years, the Finnish Ministry of Defence has opted for the advanced Israeli system to bolster its defence capabilities against a range of potential threats. The system will be implemented as a multi-layered defence mechanism.
