Anti-terror crack force National Security Guard (NSG) has started a month-long, joint anti-terror mock exercise with the United States special forces at Chennai from January 14 to February 16, during which they will share best practices on how to carry out swift and well-coordinated operations to counter terror attacks in an urban environment.

“Shortfalls” in the Department of Defense’s cyber posture can be attributed to the rapid loss of talent to private industry, according to the Pentagon’s chief weapons tester.
The recently released fiscal 2022 annual report of the Office of the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation asserts that “the DOD’s abilities to assess against Red Teams portraying nation state adversaries remain limited due to persistent resource and personnel shortfalls,” adding “[a]nother persistent shortfall in the DOD’s cyber posture is the lack of adequate cyber test capabilities.

A fighter jet, tearing over an airbase at low level, afterburner ablaze, is a highly familiar trope by now, whether as part of an airshow or something less official. But multiple jets ‘thumping’ an airfield, from all directions, in a simulated multi-vector attack profile, is certainly not something we see every day, especially in an age of precision guided weapons. The U.S. military recently launched an airstrike in Somalia to help Somali troops fend off more than 100 al-Shabaab militants in a town that had recently been recaptured by government forces, according to U.S. Africa Command.

Epirus has landed a contract from the Army’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office for prototypes of its Leonidas high-power microwave system that can kill drones by zapping their electronics.
The award, announced by the company Monday, comes as the U.S. military is on the hunt for new capabilities to address the growing threat from adversaries’ unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Leonidas system will support the Army’s Indirect Fire Protection Capability-High-Power Microwave Program.

After weeks of Germany refusing to allow its Western allies to send their Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, Berlin has finally authorized Poland to send its German-made Leopard tanks to Kyiv to fight the Russian invasion.
