Foreign nationals working on U.S. Central Command installations in locations like Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar could soon have artificial intelligence monitoring their every move.
That’s according to a new Air Force request for information, seeking contractors capable of providing such an AI-driven surveillance system so that force protection personnel will not have to watch “other country nationals,” as the solicitation refers to them, while they work on Centcom’s forward locations.

Army Maj. Gen. Kenneth Kamper has been suspended as commanding general of the U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, amid an investigation by the Army Inspector General’s Office, service spokeswoman Cynthia Smith said on Friday.
While Smith declined to say exactly what Kamper is being investigated for, she told Task & Purpose that none of the allegations under investigation involve accusations of sexual misconduct.

The United States will procure ground-launched small diameter bombs from contractors to aid Ukraine in its fight against Russia, the Defense Department announced Friday.
The GLSDB weapon system, which was developed by Saab in partnership with Boeing — the manufacturer of the U.S. Air Force’s air-launched small diameter bomb — is part of a new $2.2 billion security assistance package.

AFP has learned military-focused USAA has raised car insurance rates in the red, heavily active-duty military and veteran populated state of Florida over 100%.
One source told us his 6 month policy for a 2019 truck went up almost six thousand dollars, or a thousand dollars a month. The USAA Facebook chat is filled with military members in The Sunshine State enraged at the development.

A coroner has determined that Air Force Academy Cadet 3rd Class Hunter Brown died of a blood clot in his lungs that was caused by an injury to his left foot that he sustained during football practice weeks earlier, according to a copy of Brown’s autopsy report that was provided to Task & Purpose.
El Paso County Coroner Jarod Murdoch has ruled that Brown’s Jan. 9 death was accidental, the autopsy report says. The Colorado Springs Gazette newspaper first reported on Murdoch’s findings.
