Booz Allen Hamilton, a Virginia-based consultancy company, will assess the energy vulnerabilities of the United States Department of Defense (DoD).
The organisation will define the DoD’s requirements for energy resilience projects and identify third-party funding sources for energy resilience and security projects.
The contract is valued at $28.8m and work will occur in Arlington, Virginia with an estimated completion date of 12 December 2026.

Spirit AeroSystems, which is part of the Bell Textron-led industry team that recently won the US Army’s Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) competition, is in talks to finalise its statement of work for the programme, according to a Spirit official.
“We’re currently in daily conversations to develop that statement of work,” said Mark Miklos, senior vice-president of Spirit’s Defense & Space business.

Air Defender 2023, NATO’s largest air drills in its history, kicked off this week in Germany. The drills, which have been 4 years in the planning, started Monday and will go until June 23. The exercises include up to 250 aircraft participating in operations that are to be launched from 6 military bases. A total of 25 countries are participating in the drills including the U.S., which has deployed 100 of its aircraft overseas as part of the drills.

A total of 22 U.S. troops were injured when a helicopter crashed in northeastern Syria on June 11, according to U.S. Central Command, or CENTCOM.
All the troops are being treated for “injuries of various degrees,” and 10 of the service members have been sent to higher care facilities outside of the CENTCOM theater of operations, a CENTCOM news release says.
