Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) partners have announced that they will jointly provide air defences worth £92m ($116.2m) to protect Ukraine’s critical national infrastructure and front-line personnel.
Ukraine has begun its long-awaited counter-offensive across the south and east of the country, where Russian forces have dug themselves in since last winter.
 The UK Ministry of Defence, in its daily relay of updates on the conflict, said there has been an increased presence of Russian aerial sorties deployed in response to Ukrainian offensive operations.

European defence and security original equipment manufacturer Thales has put forward the proposed acquisition of Tesserent, one of Australia’s and New Zealand’s largest cybersecurity companies, with the latter company achieved a 2022 calendar year turnover of A$185m ($125.8m).
With around 500 employees across nine offices in Australia and New Zealand, Tesserent offers cybersecurity consultancy for governments and defence clients, providing solutions and services to medium and enterprise-level organisations.

The Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has approved plans to procure Future Ready Combat Vehicles (FRCVs) and engines to upgrade in-service T-90 main battle tanks (MBTs).
The two projects were granted ‘Approval in Principle’ (AIP) by the MoD in late May. The MoD said the programmes will proceed under the government-funded ‘Make-I’ category.
