The U.S. Army’s Body Composition Program is controversial within the force. Soldiers are allowed a minimum and maximum weight based on their height, age and gender. If a soldier falls outside of this standard, under the previous program, they would be measured around the neck, hip and waist. These numbers would be used to determine the soldier’s body fat percentage based on their height and age. Commonly called a tape test, this process has changed.

Ukraine has launched its long-anticipated counteroffensive. Across the eastern part of the country, armored units are once again maneuvering on each other for dominance. And one of the things they’re looking for, besides dreadfully outdated tanks, is the “seams” between units.
Exploiting the seams, between units, between sections of the enemy organization and between armies of different nationalities is a time-tested method of gaining an advantage against an enemy force.
What are the seams?
Most military units, intelligence agencies and government agencies are effective on their own.
During the opening days of World War II in the Pacific, in late 1941 the Imperial Japanese military quickly invaded the British-controlled Solomon Islands in the southwest Pacific Ocean. The islands were a strategic location, critical to threatening shipping between the United States and Australia. Capturing the islands was part of an overall plan to take New Guinea and other islands in the area to construct naval bases and airfields in preparation for a future invasion of Australia.

Schiebel has exhibited a new airborne laser payload onboard its S-300 Camcopter unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) at the Paris Air Show 2023, held from 19 to 25 June.
The payload, dubbed VQ-840-G, is a compact airborne laser scanner developed by Riegl. The sensor is designed for high-resolution surveying of underwater topography with a narrow, visible green laser beam that penetrates water enabling measurement of submerged targets.
