There has been some interesting aerial surveillance activity over the Black Sea in recent hours, based on publicly available flight tracking software. Earlier today, a powerful radar-toting U.S. Air Force RQ-4B Global Hawk operating from Sicily was notably active off the Russian coast, not far from the cities of Sochi and Novorossiysk.
Some estimates suggest that the high-flying drone, callsign FORTE 11, may have approached as close as 54 nautical miles off the Russian coast.

Rheinmetall has won a major order in the field of maritime protection systems. The Royal Australian Navy and the Commonwealth of Australia have ordered the Multi Ammunition Softkill System, or MASS, which will initially be used to equip their Hobart-class destroyers and ANZAC-class frigates. After extensive testing, the MASS was selected for its unique capabilities.
For Rheinmetall, the order represents sales of 125 million euros. The first systems will be delivered by the end of 2023, and full operational capability will be reached in 2027.
