Indulge me for a moment. My wife and I recently bought a house in Buffalo, New York. And now, even in Buffalo, it’s getting hot enough that we need air conditioning. That costs about $5,000, according to local searches and our first quotes, significantly more than the $30-40 per gallon it would cost to paint our roof with Purdue University’s new paint.
Yes, paint.

During a quick browse through the gin section of your local Class Six, you might come across a label that reads “Navy Strength.” Be advised that choosing a Navy Strength gin over a more common label like Beefeater, Bombay or even Hendrick’s will give your tonic a potent kick – kinda like the power of a battleship’s guns.
It’s not only gin brands that offer a Navy Strength alternative. Any liquor can be dubbed Navy Strength, but it’s usually used for gin and rum – the chosen beverages for old-timey sailors.
The City Point bombing took place in August of 1864, when the momentum of the Civil War ran in favor of the North, but the Confederacy had real victories too. Robert E. Lee won at Cold Harbour in June 1864. And Confederate Maj. Gen. Jubal Early got within five miles of Washington D.C. in an assault in July. And Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant’s June attempt to take Petersburg, Virginia on his way to Richmond failed.
The assault on Petersburg turned into a protracted siege, and Grant set up his headquarters in City Point, Virginia.

Interestingly enough, the Air Force has made some recent announcements about changes to PCSing, SDAP, SRB and even decisions that affect the IRR. From a Marine’s perspective, it’s interesting to see what the future will hold for the Air Men. Will the Air Force be to the Space Force what the Marines are to the Navy in terms of funding and benefits? Will the Marine Corps ever have Space Marines in the Space Force? Contrary to popular belief, there are some smart ones among us, but they’re also smart enough to play dumb.

President Joe Biden’s pick to lead U.S. Cyber Command said if he is confirmed, he will begin to work closely with the services as they’re building out so-called tactical or expeditionary cyber forces, separate from those at the command.
“Expeditionary cyber forces have already demonstrated potential to extend the reach of cyber enabling activities and close the gaps that limit cyber forces’ ability to access important tactical targets in forward locations,” Lt. Gen. Timothy Haugh wrote to senators in a questionnaire as part of his nomination process.
