The Chinese People’s Liberation Army has moved the new Z-20T assault helicopter into air-ground training, reflecting a growing reliance on the new aircraft which is poised to revolutionise its airborne assault capabilities. Developed as the first heavyweight combat helicopter type in Chinese service, the Z-20T which was designed to complement the Z-10 attack helicopter, and made its first public appearance during a military paradeon September 3, 2025. In late April Canadian Defense Minister David McGuinty confirmed that a review of plans to procure 88 F-35 fighters from the United States remained ongoing, despite this review originally having been scheduled to be concluded six months prior around September 2025, with with no timeline given for a final decision. The Turkish defence sector has unveiled the country’s first type of intercontinental ballistic missile, the Yildirimhan, which is expected to transform the country’s long range strike capabilities and those of NATO more broadly. The missile has an estimated range of around 6,000 kilometres, placing it at the boundary between intermediate-range and intercontinental ballistic missiles, and can reportedly achieve speeds of over Mach 20. It is described as using a four-engine configuration and liquid propulsion based on nitrogen tetroxide.

Leonel Garciga left his role as the Army’s chief information officer last week, the service announced Tuesday.
His departure from the job had been anticipated. Federal News Network previously reported that he was expected to exit in June.
Garciga, a Navy veteran who has served in the federal government across intelligence, information technology and engineering sectors for nearly three decades, was selected as the Army’s CIO in July 2023.

Marine Corps leaders are considering making Scouts a Primary Military Occupational Specialty, similar to Machine Gunners and Mortarmen, said a senior Marine commander in charge of training.
Currently, Scout platoons are designated within infantry and light armor reconnaissance units and manned by Marines trained in traditional PMOS.
Marine Maj. Gen. Michael A. Brooks, who leads Training Command, laid out the concept for a Scout PMOS on Monday. 
“There is interest in turning our scout MOS, which is 0315, into a Primary MOS,” Brooks said on Monday.
