Three airmen who were injured in a deadly drone attack on a U.S. military base in Jordan earlier this year were recently awarded Purple Hearts, the Air Force recently announced.
Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael Byrne, Senior Airman Herland Antezana, and Staff Sgt. Dustin Dinkelacker received the award during an Oct. 5 ceremony at Moffett Air National Guard Base in California. All three airmen are assigned to the 129th Rescue Wing.

More than 5,000 National Guard troops have been mobilized ahead of Hurricane Milton which is expected to make landfall late Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the Florida National Guard activated nearly 5,000 of its members with 11 rotary-wing aircraft, more than 400 high-water vehicles and 16 watercraft as the state prepares for a storm that climate officials are warning could be “one of the most intense hurricanes on record” in the Atlantic basin which includes the North Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico.

CDM reported on the recent incident in North Carolina where a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter damaged the civilian aid collection site in the NC Hurricane Helene impact area.
Initial reports on X were the aircraft belonged to the CT National Guard.
We contacted the CT National Guard yesterday and obtained an interim statement. North Carolina released the statement below today.
In a separate incident, a U.S. Army Chinook sent several civilians to the hospital when trying to land.
