Members of the U.S. Army Parachute Team, along with veterans and skilled civilian skydivers gave a dominant performance this past week at the World Skydiving Championships. Teams representing the United States won seven gold medals across multiple events, including a dominant win in the 8-Way Formation Skydiving contest by members of the U.S. Army. 
The competition, held every two years and organized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, saw teams from around the world compete in several different challenges in the air over Beaufort, North Carolina from Oct. 5-11.

American forces hit multiple ISIS camps across Syria on Oct. 11, in one of the larger military operations against the group in recent months, U.S. Central Command announced today.
The operation took place on the morning of Friday. CENTCOM was very sparse on details regarding the airstrikes, only saying that it targeted “multiple known ISIS camps in Syria.” The military did not elaborate on how many camps were targeted overall, where in Syria they were, or how many militants were killed.

Former Army soldier Cole Bridges was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Friday for his attempt to help ISIS ambush and kill American troops in the Middle East. The sentencing comes more than a year after Bridges pleaded guilty to attempting to provide material support for ISIS. 
Bridges, who also went by the name “Cole Gonzales,” was sentenced on Oct. 11 in New York. After his prison time is over, he will also serve 10 years of supervised release.
